Does Nostr need to approve my app?

No review is needed. You connect your Nostr key, through a remote signer you control.

How do I know a Nostr post went live?

Nostr accepts the post and Postbroad shows it as accepted, with the link Nostr gives. It isn't called checked, because Postbroad doesn't read it back.
