How to schedule social posts with Claude and MCP
Use Claude on the web, Claude desktop or Claude Code to draft and schedule posts through the Postbroad MCP server, with a preview first.
· The Postbroad team
Claude can use Postbroad through MCP, the Model Context Protocol. Once it is connected, Claude can read your posting calendar, draft a version of a post for each network, schedule it after your yes, and tell you what went live. There are two ways to connect, depending on where you use Claude.
On claude.ai and in Claude desktop
- Open Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector.
- Use the address https://app.postbroad.com/mcp.
- Sign in to Postbroad and choose the brands the connector may touch.
- Turn the connector on in a chat and ask: "List my Postbroad brands."
Every Postbroad tool says whether it only reads or changes something, so Claude can show you what each call does before it runs. Keep Claude's approval for tools that write switched on. Claude setup page.
In Claude Code
Claude Code connects to the same hosted MCP server. Add it with one command, then sign in in the browser when Claude Code opens the page.
claude mcp add --transport http postbroad https://app.postbroad.com/mcp
Run /mcp to check that postbroad is connected. The built-in recipes then appear as slash commands, such as /mcp__postbroad__plan_next_week. Claude Code setup page.
Announce a release from your changelog
This is where Claude Code shines: the changelog is right there in the repository.
Read CHANGELOG.md, draft a release post for Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn, and show me the preview before you schedule it for 10:00 tomorrow.
Claude writes one post with a version for each network. Postbroad checks each version against the network's limits, for example 300 characters on Bluesky, and returns a preview. Claude shows it, you say yes, and the post is scheduled.
What Claude can't do
- Approve a post for you. If the brand needs approval, Claude gets a review link and stops.
- Connect a new social account. A person does that in Postbroad.
- Post twice to make sure. If a network went quiet, Postbroad looks for the post before anything is sent again.
Where to go next
- Set up Cursor with the same hosted MCP server.
- Schedule from ChatGPT if your team uses both.
- See every channel you can post to.
